THE RENAISSANCE OF REALISM

NATIONAL SYMPOSIUM FOR COLLECTORS
DENVER ART MUSEUM
NOVEMBER 13TH 2015
OPENING GALA OF WINDOWS SHOW AT GALLERY 1261

As part of our mission to provide education to collectors, in 2015, the Foundation will launch a new national network for collectors called "Collectors for Connoisseurship." This online community of collectors will meet in person every other year in a different city in America to view art, learn about collecting, and engage in a national dialogue about the direction of art and what collectors can do to promote the vocation of the artist.

The First Collectors for Connoisseurship Symposium will be held on Friday, November 13, 2015 in Denver, Colorado. The tentative initial schedule to date:

Friday, November 13, 2015 at the Denver Art Museum:

◊ Morning Tours at the DAM of the Wyeth Exhibition (N.C., Andrew and Jamie Wyeth) which opens the first weekend of November (tickets must be purchased for this special DAM Exhibition) and/or Special Tour by Angelica Daneo, Associate Curator of Painting & Sculpture of the European & American Art Galleries on Level 6 of the DAM.

◊ Afternoon Symposium (1 PM-5 PM). Lectures and Panel Discussions re: Global Art Market, Realism and Advice to Collectors (Participants to date):

        •   Peter Trippi, Editor of Fine Art Connoisseur;
        •   Kristin Hoerth, Editor of Southwest Art Magazine;
        •   Daniel Sprick, Artist;
        •   Robert Jackson, Artist;

Friday Evening Opening Gala of Realism Art Show at Gallery 1261

WINDOWS TO THE DIVINE® EXHIBITION & SALE
MAY 17TH TO JUNE 6TH OF 2014
ARTHAUS IN DENVER

The Windows to the Divine® Exhibition and Sale was held at ArtHaus, 3343 Larimer Street from May 17th through June 6th of 2014. More than 57 artists from 11 states and Germany exhibited works ranging from representational (landscapes, still life, figurative) to realistic to contemporary and traditional ethnographic.

Fra Angelico Artist of the Year:

The 2014 Fra Angelico Artist of the Year was William Hook whose work is contained in the permanent collection of the Denver Art Museum. The award, a hand-blown glass sculpture created by participating artist Kit Karbler, was presented to Mr. Hook at the Opening Gala. Prior recipients have included Don Sahli (2011), Ramon Kelley (2009), and Quang Ho (2007).

This year, as part of its mission to attract young people to the visual arts, the Foundation staged its events at ArtHaus in the vibrant RiNo (River North Art) District which borders downtown and is the heart of the national migration of the millennial generation to Denver. ArtHaus is a new contemporary gallery and flex space that serves as a setting for collaborations, community gatherings, and exhibits as well as studio space for artist-owners Michael Gadlin and Aliki McCain.

The Schedule of Events was as follows:
Saturday, May 17th:   Opening Gala

The Opening Gala was held on Saturday evening from 5:30-6:30 PM (Patron Party) and from 6:30-8:30 PM (Cocktails & Delectables). The Gala was a ticketed event and fundraiser for the Foundation.

Saturday, May 31st:   Patron Collectors' Salon

The Patron Collectors' Salon was held at ArtHaus from 9 AM to 12:30 PM. Event Sponsors, Benefactors and Patron ticket holders from the Opening Gala were invited to an exclusive salon at ArtHaus featuring:

◊ Presentation & Lecture by Daniel Sprick, entitled "Daniel Sprick Fictions" about his
    exhibition at the Denver Art Museum;

◊ Light Brunch;

◊ 4-in-1 Paint About and Live Auction with Jill Soukup, Terrie Lombardi, Desmond
    O'Hagan and Kevin Weckbach; and

◊ Live Auction of Paint About Works.
